High-Performance Self-Adhesive Fiberglass Mesh Tape

Sakarni Fibreglass Tape is a professional-grade, high-tensile cross-woven glass fiber mesh tape engineered to provide superior structural reinforcement at drywall and plasterboard joints. Augmented with a premium pressure-sensitive self-adhesive backing, it eliminates the need for a traditional bedding coat of jointing compound, dramatically accelerating installation speeds. It functions as an un-yielding mechanical skeletal framework over panel interfaces, bridging gaps seamlessly to distribute multi-directional stress and permanently prevent hairline surface cracks.

Engineered to Protect Board Joints from Hairline Cracking, Air Blisters & Seam Separation

Conventional Paper Tapes

Traditional systems often suffer from:

  • Trapping localized air pockets underneath, causing severe surface blistering and wrinkling
  • Requiring a messy initial bedding coat of compound that slows down multi-stage layout handovers
  • Absorbing atmospheric moisture, leading to structural rot or weak joint peeling failures

Fiberglass Tape

It is specially formulated to provide:

  • Open mesh design that allows jointing compound to flow cleanly through, eliminating trapped air pockets
  • Pressure-sensitive self-adhesive tack that holds the mesh perfectly flat against dry board seams
  • High-tensile glass fiber filaments that resist structural twisting, shearing, and elongation forces
  • Inorganic, moisture-stable composition that will not rot, degrade, or separate over time

where to use

application process

Surface Preparation

  • Ensure that the installed gypsum boards or plaster surfaces are completely secure, rigid, clean, and structurally sound.
  • Clean all drywall panel joints thoroughly to remove structural site dust, loose paper fibers, and greasy residues.
  • Verify that all mechanical drywall screw heads are driven flush or slightly below the board surface plane prior to taping.
  • Keep the application zone completely dry to maximize the initial grab mechanics of the pressure-sensitive self-adhesive backing.

Application

  • Center the self-adhesive fiberglass mesh tape precisely over the dry joint track line, running it continuously down the seam.
  • Press the tape firmly against the board face using a clean drywall taping knife or manual hand pressure to lock the grip.
  • Cut the reinforcing mesh tape cleanly at layout endpoints using a sharp utility knife or the straight edge of your taping tool.
  • Ensure that the entire applied mesh track sits perfectly flat, tight, and smooth against the board without any wrinkles or lifts.

FInishing

  • Spread a generous layer of specialized jointing compound directly over the open mesh channels using a steel trowel.
  • Force the compound firmly through the grid pores to fill the under-void completely, then feather the outer edges cleanly.
  • Allow the initial filling layer to cure completely for twenty-four hours before applying a secondary, wider skim topcoat layer.
  • Sand down the cured joint finish systematically with fine emery paper to achieve a flat, unbroken surface plane layout.
